The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) is pleased to present the results of the VLEE project (Visual Literacy for Engineering Education) born as part of an Erasmus+ strategic partnership and developed in collaboration with Poland (West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin-ZUT & Federation of Associations of Scientifically Technical Notes-NOT), Spain (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), Denmark (Technical Education Copenhagen), Ireland (Momentum Marketing services limited) and United Kingdom (Canice consulting limited).
VLEE takes the approach to foster the Visual Literacy of engineers by innovative training resources into Higher Education as well as into Vocational Training. It recognises that the possibilities for developing these competences have grown exponentially thanks to the proliferation of digital technology.
The results of the work of the VLEE project was divided into three intellectual Oputputs. The first one is a competence framework, which identifies the visual competences specific to engineering. In this multiplier event we will describe this competence framework, as well as its implications for educators, students, professionals and policy makers.
