METHODOLOGY

The course follows a highly communicative approach. Its main goal is to enable students to use the language as a tool for expression and communication. The focus of the course is on the student, who plays an active role in his or her learning process.

LEVEL

A1

At the A1 (Breakthrough) level of Spanish, according to the Global Scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), students will be able to understand and use frequently used everyday expressions, as well as simple phrases aimed at meeting immediate needs. They will be able to introduce themselves and others, ask for and provide basic personal information about their residence, belongings, and people they know. They will also be able to engage in simple interactions, provided the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is willing to cooperate.

DURATION

The course consists of a total of 60 hours, structured as follows:
• 50 hours of in-person classes
• 10 hours of independent work

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 15:00 to 17:00

EVALUATION

Continuous assessment based on oral and written assignments, as well as a final exam.

CERTIFICATION

A Certificate of Achievement, based on attendance (80%) and assessment will be issued by UPM. The certificate includes the level, attendance, grade and credits (2 ECTS).
